We just came back from a family trip in Quebec City and I cannot stop raving to family and friends about the place. As soon as we landed it felt as though we were in a different country all together. Perhaps somewhere in Europe. With streets and buildings over 400 years old, Quebec City is a history book just waiting to be explored by visitors. One of our favourite historic buildings was actually the hotel we stayed in. Located directly in the heart of old Quebec, the Auberge Saint Antoine is nestled between the Museum of Civilization and a smattering of art galleries and cafes.
We all know someone affected by multiple sclerosis, as it affects 1 in every 340 people in Canada. This is the highest rate in the world. MS is classified as an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. It attacks the protective covering of the nerves, which is called myelin, causing inflammation and often damage. MS is anything but a routine disease and has unique effects on every individual. It’s unpredictable and can be extremely physically and emotionally taxing. I have three close friends who are living with MS and I feel compelled to help in any way I can, which in my case is through my blog.
The MS Society of Canada has been researching and helping those affected by the disease for 70 years now. They have recently released the MS Wellness Toolbox that has me so super jazzed because I think it’s something we can all learn from.Read on
When I first started the 8-week Financial Fitness program, I thought I’d have a ton of work ahead of me and that I’d finish it feeling a bit defeated. I have a far better handle on my money situation, my spending and saving habits, and the potential reach of my financial goals.
Car2Go or to Car2Woah? What started as a cute little brand with wee Smart Cars has now progressed into this affordable luxury brand. Car2Go has just added some badass cars to their fleet – the Mercedes GLA and the Mercedes CLA. Wondering what this even means? To put it simply, the CLA is a 5-passenger sedan and the GLA is a 5-passenger SUV. Meaning that you can now drive around four of your closest friends to your favourite bar or restaurant or head on a family road trip like we did!
Can you believe we’re in the very last week of the 8-week Financial Fitness Plan? These past few weeks have flown by and I’ve learned so much in the process. This week we’re focusing on retirement and the actionable steps you need to take for a successful retirement plan.
Retirement is an uncomfortable subject for a lot of people, especially among us young folks (…am I allowed to say that now that I’m almost 30)? It’s actually kind of stressful to think about because there are so many unknowns. I mean, we go through most of our lives knowing exactly what we’re doing each day, who we’re going to see, where we’re going, and which rules to follow. Fast forward to retirement and all of this changes.
So rather than relying on vague ideas of what you’re going to do when you retire and how you’ll eventually get there, start with a simple plan. There are no right or wrong/good or bad plans. Just having one and following it will get you much farther than the average Jane who thinks that she’ll just figure it out as she goes.Read on
