Pre-brunch detox juice

Who doesn’t love brunch? Are thoughts of mid-morning coffees, carby goodness and maple syrup coming your way? Me too, especially over the holidays.

The only qualm I have with brunch is the waiting time in between waking up and actually getting to eat. I have to eat in the morning, otherwise my blood sugar is all out of whack and the hanger sets in BAD. But I also don’t want to ruin my appetite by eating breakfast before heading out the door. So what’s a girl to do? She drinks a detoxifying green juice, that’s what.

Recipe

1 Cup water

2 cucumbers

1 celery stick

1 lemon

1/4 Cup fresh ginger

1/2 bunch of cilantro

Instructions

you may choose to leave the skin on all of the ingredients to get the maximum benefits, however, peeling the ginger and juicing the lemon tastes better, not gonna lie 😉

throw all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until well combined

Detox and relax

This little green soldier will be your best friend in the morning and will leave you glowing with all of its amazing benefits. You pretty much throw all the best superfoods for you into a high speed blender (I use my Vitamix) and it takes all of 3 minutes to make. Just think of all those micronutrients working away to boost your immunity, health, and mood… All things we need over the holidays. Not only will you feel amazing after drinking this juice, but it will reduce your cravings for overeating and overindulging at brunch time. Win Win… Win.
